Today Taryn had her 2 month check-up with Dr. Robert. I was really curious to see how much she'd grown since our last visit when she was only 2 weeks old. She's gained nearly 2lbs, grew 2 inches longer and her head got 1 cm bigger! Everyone keeps commenting on how little she looks but the doctor said her growth rate is just fine and it's okay to be a little one when you start out small. She had to get a shot today which she didn't like but before the nurse was ready to leave the room Taryn had already stopped crying and was ready to take a nap in the car!
Weight: 9lbs, 3oz (20%)
Height: 22 inches (45%)
Head: 15 1/4 cm (55%)

We call Taryn "The Boss" because she's not shy at all about letting us know when she's not happy and we usually conform to her! She's developed a little bit of a pacifier addiction...okay, so it's more than a little addiction and more like an obsession. As a result we keep that thing clipped to her like it's a fashionable accessory (thank goodness for cute pacifier clips). I go back and forth in my mind whether it's better to have a thumb sucker or a pacifier baby. You can't take the thumb away but it's much easier for a 2 month old to find their thumb than a pacifier when it falls out. I guess you can't win either way. So I make many trips into her room when she's trying to sleep to give it to her when it slips out of her mouth. Let's just say I've been a little tired lately so now I'm accepting tips on how to help keep it in her mouth all night long!!
